The best areas to stay in Munich are Altstadt, Kunstareal (part of the Maxvorstadt cultural district), Lehel, Au-Haidhausen, or Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. Each of these neighborhoods has its own atmosphere. Some will be perfect for a family trip, others for a romantic getaway, and still others for a more festive getaway.
