The palace and the garden are open every day, except January 1, January 6, Friday before Easter and December 25.

Good to know. The capacity of the Alcazar is 750 people. As soon as the palace and the gardens are full, no one enters. Even if you have skip-the-line tickets: you will have to wait. During the very high season, it is therefore useful to come early in the morning.

Do you have to book the Alcazar of Seville? Yes.

Yes, it is useful to book the Alcazar of Seville in advance because there is often a queue at the entrance. First, the price of skip-the-line tickets is only €1 higher. And then “in advance” does not necessarily mean 6 months in advance. Even if you prefer not to plan too much, you can usually buy your skip-the-line tickets the day before for the next day.

Buy a ticket at the entrance

You arrive at the Palace, you queue, you buy the ticket and you enter. It’s simple, it’s fast, it’s long. There is very often a long queue for the Alcazar.

What we did: we arrived in front of the Alcazar, we got depressed in front of the queue and then we bought our skip-the-line tickets on the internet on the phone and we got back quickly.

How to do? On the official website, it is possible to buy skip-the-line tickets for the Alcazar of Seville, 1€ more expensive than at the cash desk. That is to say for 12.5€. Take them well on the only official site: it is the cheapest and the most reliable. The site is in Spanish, English and Russian (with some translation problems ;).

When? Tickets have an entry time to respect. There are entries every 30 minutes. Besides, no need to print them, you can show them on the phone, that’s enough. Finally, you can buy tickets up to 6 months in advance.

Audio guide in English. If this is your first visit and you want to visit the Alcazar of Seville without a guide, I advise you to take the audioguide in French. The palace is very rich and you will thus have explanations of the different elements.

Be careful in high season. The number of entrances to the Alcazar is capped. So when the building is full, no one comes in. In high season, it happens quickly and there is then a very long queue. The skip-the-line ticket, although a little more expensive, is really worth taking in this kind of case.

Alcazar of Seville Guided Tour in English

The history and architecture of the Alcazar are very rich. For this kind of place, I like to take a guided tour, because I learn a lot more about the place than if I visit alone. The ideal is to do it with a private guide, but we have not found one yet.

With the GetYourGuide platform, you can find a 1h30 guided tour of the Alcazar of Seville in English.

At the end of the visit, you will probably be able to stay in the Palace and Gardens.

Welcome to Dorne #GoT

If you haven’t seen or read Game Of Thrones, you can skip it. For the others, you will probably have recognized it: welcome to Dorne! The Alcazar of Seville is the palace of the Martell house. So many memories… Myrcella Baratheon and Trystan Martell, the only nice and sincere ones in the whole series.

There are even Game of Thrones guided tours for €45!
